Bye, bye, bye to summer school!

I DID IT!! I made it through 10 weeks of summer school! I completed 3 classes this summer and have made A’s in 2/3 of my classes. The verdict is still out on this one! Hopefully I’ll be 3 for 3! I have a real sense of accomplishment and pride because of everything I’ve done this summer. I’d like to take this opportunity to compliment myself…

Dear me,
Well, this is it, 10 weeks behind you! Look at everything you’ve done in the past 10 weeks. You lived in 2 different places with 2 different roommates, completed 3 classes, and learned a billion lessons about everything from computers, research, and Alzheimer’s, to people, friends, money, love, and life. Most importantly I think you’ve learned a few things about yourself. It’s been a roller coaster summer. The project you did for CD 315 is great! I can’t believe you just came up with all that stuff from nothing. You deserve a pat on the back because you did a fantastic job! I know you aren't going on a beach vacation or anything next week, but you get a week off with no homework, no classes, and hopefully a minimal amount of stress. Enjoy it, you earned it! Get rested up because this coming semester is going to be a toughie! You’re a senior!! Can you believe it?! That’s crazy! It seems like last week you were in CD 101. Anyway you did great this summer! Major props to you for all your hard work!!

~Tips for future CD 315 students~

1. Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today!

2. Work a little on your assignments every day.

3. Think about the big picture from the start. There’s nothing worse than figuring out 7 weeks into the process that you don’t really know where your project is going!

4. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, and take any and all advice that you’re given. Your classmates are a valuable resource!

5. Print off copies of the assignments, and save your assignments either in your email or on a disk.

6. Start a tradition (like karaoke on Tuesday nights)!! Your classmates and even your professor will enjoy coming out to see you make a fool of yourself week after week!

7. Pray!

8. Take pride in your work and don't get too stressed out because it's usually not as bad as you think it is!

Crunch time!

Another week has just flown by! It seems like only yesterday that we were enjoying a nice lunch at the Hall of Fame Café! I really enjoyed seeing everyone on Tuesday, and was happy that everyone was still hanging on here near the end of this class. I’ve been doing a lot of work on my genres since Tuesday and some of them are finished (unless I go back and tweak a few things after everything else is done). While I was doing all this work on my blog I neglected the Week 9 Assignments that I had yet to complete! So, I will be working hard to get my references and reflection done.

Emily and I only have one more week living together! Sorry that we never got to have you all over for a party, but maybe we’ll have time for that this coming semester (RIIIIIGHT)! I have the feeling that the only times we’ll be seeing each other is in class! The Gym Factory is no longer an option for stress relief parties, but IT WASN’T MY FAULT!! I can’t wait to get this project finished and have a week off. I’m not going to Florida or anything like Emily, but it will be nice to have nothing to do. Nothing to do except get ready to come back to school! Actually I am looking forward to coming back to school, but not starting classes again! Sometimes classes become those annoying times between naps, and school interferes with my social life! Ha ha, I’m just kidding! I’m pretty excited to see what this semester’s classes have in store for us. I feel kind of bad for our poor classmates that are taking CD 315 in the fall! I have had a hard enough time being very disciplined and getting all my work finished this summer, and I’ve had nothing else to do. Combine this class with all our other classes and that could cause some people to have a meltdown!

I’m hoping for a good grade on my project, and in this class. I feel so unsure about my work though. This is all new to me, to all of us, and I just don’t know if I’ve done things “right”. Sometimes I look at all the different pieces of my project and think, “WHAT A MESS”! After my little revelation I can see how things will hopefully come together, but that point is still on the other side of the mountain! My revelation was the peak, now I just have to get down the other side, but unlike a mountain things aren’t all downhill from here! Just a few more days and we’ll all reach the finish line!! YAY!!

8 Down, 2 to Go!!

We're coming down the home stretch! Week 8 is down, but not out cause I haven't finished all my work! I had a revelation tonight! For the past few weeks I've pondered and worried about how I was going to tie everything together in the end, but I think I've got it all figured out now! You'll have to stay tuned to see it all unfold!! Ha ha, it sounds like a soap opera!

This week was pretty good. Emily and I went to the library Tuesday because we both can't be online here at the house. It was good to see some familiar faces there...Laura, Frances, and Jennifer. I'll admit I laughed hysterically for about 5 minutes straight when Matt flubbed up on the MOO and "whispered" his comment to everyone in our room! I wasn't laughing at him, I was laughing with him, I just hope he was laughing! The teachers in our group were ok, but not all were really on task. One woman just kept emoting, and not actually saying anything. Then there was the woman "hitting" people with newspapers, and telling them they were "Bad, bad, bad!" Anyway, it was interesting.

I'd better get to bed. Emily volunteered me to help paint a house tomorrow beginning at 8AM!! Isn't she a sweetheart?!?! You want to know what she said to hook me? "They're going to have doughnuts!" All I have to say is they had better be Krispy Kreme, and they had better be GOOD!! Until next week...I'm out!
